A generally angsty work which I composed rather quickly, over the course of two days in September 2020.  For the first time in my life I’ve been drawn more to narrative music (especially that of Berlioz); something I sort of actively avoided when I was younger.  Generally I’ve always thought music has enough merit to exist regardless of any story or tale, but with this piece I allowed myself a little narrative while I was composing.   A person, their infatuation, unrequited love, awkwardness, glances, rejection, promise, strangeness,  ultimate rejection…etc..  Color wise – pinks, reds, blacks and whites.  Thats really as far as I got.

Musically that comes out to a controlled amount of dissonance with overbearing consonance, soft of a balancing act between the two.
